Hot, Hot, Hot Group Ride on Tanwang Lu! 谭王路...热死了!

It was a HOT weekend for riding these past couple of days in the capital. That didn’t stop the Beijing West Cycling Group 京西骑行群 taking on a 115km route on Saturday morning for another well attended social ride. Starting out from our normal meeting point at Wukesong 五棵松 subway, the group headed west, first taking on the Jietai Si 戒台寺 climb, along with what seemed like hundreds of other cyclists. The group kept going though, onto Tanwang Lu 谭王路 and it’s classic climb. By mid-morning the heat was already rising, so the descent on the north side of Tanwanglu was welcome by all for its cooling effect. A brief stop at Wangping  village 王平村 allowed for refueling before taking on the small but punchy Xia’an Lu 下安路. By the end of the ride everyone was racing for home to beat the heat and humidity! Apart from the oven-like temperatures, it was another great ride. See you all in the next one!
